Overview

Shop as a squad, not as one person typing prices into an app

Squads are your household#

A squad is the group you shop with — a household, a shared apartment, a couple. Every member picks a unique callsign (their handle inside Conduit), and squad membership works by invite: one member looks up another by callsign and sends an invite, which shows up under that member's SQUAD_INVITES to accept or decline.

A member can belong to more than one squad but has exactly one active squad at a time — the one whose merchants, missions, and item history you're currently looking at. Switching squads is a single action from your profile.

Squad membership carries real permissions: only the squad's creator can remove another member from the crew, and you can't leave or delete your only squad — you'd be left with nowhere to shop.

Missions are shopping trips#

A mission is a single shopping trip, and it moves through three states:

  • Draft — you're still deciding what to buy, no merchant is committed yet
  • Active — you've picked a merchant and you're shopping, checking items off as you go
  • Finished — the trip is done

Each mission tracks an estimated total built from the estimated value of every item on it, and a completion figure ({completed}/{total} · {percent}%) so anyone in the squad can see progress at a glance without asking "are you almost done?" mid-aisle.

Items on a mission aren't typed fresh every time — they come from your squad's shared mission item list (see Aisle Rules for how that list gets ordered to match a specific store).

Shopping together, live#

Conduit includes a realtime layer for squad state, so a mission you're running together doesn't depend on everyone reloading the page to see the same list. That matters most during an active mission, when more than one person in the squad may be looking at it at once.
